Hometown: Holland, Michigan

Education: Completed my cosmetology program at The Salon Professional Academy in Nashville. I have had several classes with Sam Villa, Michael Cole, and Tina Terry Hunt. In the next year I plan to continue education in hair color, hair cutting, formal styling, and makeup. I also have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a minor in Sociology from Michigan State University.

What inspired me to pursue a career in beauty: I have always had a great interest in hair and makeup. I had been doing my own hair for years and was constantly thinking about going to cosmetology school. I decided after moving to Nashville that it was the perfect place to make my dream become a reality. Without a question in my mind it was the best decision I have ever made. I love it!

Awards or Recognition: I plan to be a Redken Specialist before the end of 2012. At TSPA I was asked to be a student educator twice, where I helped mentor new student stylists.

Celebrity style I admire: Angelina Jolie, Brigitte Bardot, Kelly Osbourne
